Our Kids- Hunger Awareness Vodcast

First Generation Faculty Initiative in Action 
The First Generation Faculty Initiative launched during Week 0 was a success! UCI's first generation faculty were given shirts, buttons, and other first gen swag to show off their support to our incoming first generation students. Find out more here.
UCI's Research Abroad Fellowship
UCI’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), in coordination with the Study Abroad Center, has launched the Research Abroad Fellowship. This fellowship recognizes research or creative projects  that are produced by UCI undergraduates, under the guidance of UCI faculty, that are either conducted abroad or projects resulting directly from an undergraduate's experience abroad. Read more here.

Pedagogical Fellow Showcase: Dominique Ingato
     The Center for Engaged Instruction proudly presents our first Pedagogical Fellow Showcase, featuring Dominique Ingato from Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.
     Dominique Ingato is a Ph.D. candidate in the BioTherapeutics Engineering Laboratory (BioTEL) and was a Pedagogical Fellow (PF) during the 2015-2016 academic year. Her primary research focuses on the development of cell-derived nano-carriers for biocompatible, targeted cancer therapy. She is also interested in engineering education and has researched the design of problem-based learning modules for STEM courses. This academic year, Dominique is serving as a senior PF and a member of the STEM Future Faculty advisory committee. Dominique answers our PF Showcase questions:

Graduate Students Should Apply to the Pedagogical Fellows Program by October 16
Graduate students who are interested in advanced pedagogy and mentoring other graduate students can apply for the Pedagogical Fellows Program. The program helps graduate students with pedagogical and professional development, provides personalized assistance with preparing for the academic job market, and awards a $2000 fellowship. Read more here.

Summer Session 2017

For Summer Session 2017, we are happy to announce that the Pay for Only fee incentive program will be offered to all current and incoming UC students*. Students who enroll in 8 units and pay the regular course and campus fees can take additional units and pay no additional course fees!

*Please note that the full-time fee incentive program does not apply to visiting non-UC students, to special programs charging a program fee in lieu of course fees, and any courses with other applicable discounts (such as independent study courses). Fees other than course fees will be charged according to the appropriate deadlines and policies for enrollments beyond 8 units. Course fees are pending final approval by the Regents of the University of California and are subject to change at any time for all campuses, including UCI.

Please welcome new CHP Advisor Theresa Nguyen
Campuswide Honors Program’s newest Academic Advisor, Theresa Nguyen, is an alumna of UCI and of the CHP, graduating in 2005 with a degree in English and minors in French and History. Theresa brings diverse advising experience to our office that will be an asset for our students. She looks forward particularly to advising transfer students and helping enhance the CHP’s transfer program, in addition to advising on curriculum and research opportunities. Once an Anteater, always an Anteater. Theresa is excited to return home to the CHP and UCI as an Academic Advisor.
