Tour a School Composting Facility

Has your school been wondering how to get into composting? Learn more about a facility currently working with schools who want to divert that organic waste from the landfill at a tour of Hillside Solutions! On August 1st, in conjunction with the 3rd annual Green Schools Round Table, you can get a peek inside this facility and meet and talk with the owners.
The Green Schools Round Table is all about connecting teachers, administrators, facilities managers, local businesses and nonprofits, community leaders, and green school advocates with resources to help make the green school journey successful. It is also an opportunity to network and share your ideas and success with your peers. Throughout the morning you will learn how to engage your schools in all things green including gardens and outdoor learning, energy, water, recycling & composting, environmental quality, curriculum and more! In addition to our large group discussion that has served us well in the past, this year we are adding some break out sessions to dive further into those specific topics of interest. And don't forget about that tour of Hillside Solutions!
We hope to see you at the Round Table on August 1st at Carol Joy Holling Center in Ashland, NE. The tour will begin at 8:30 with the Round Table discussions beginning at 9:30. Lunch and refreshments will be provided as everything wraps up at 1:00.

This includes gardens and trees for your schoolyard! Get started today, sign up by July 31 for fall planting, or August 31 for spring planting.
