We want you to stay informed!

Our most recent Strategic Project Development Workshop in December 2015 in Copenhagen has shown, how important it is to have sufficient time to exchange recent developments in project sketches and applications. Our ambition now is to keep the threads together, that we’ve taken up and to continue our mission to strengthen cultural cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region. To put it into the words of Stefan Musiolik, PA Culture Coordinator from Schleswig-Holstein: “Synergies. It should be our main aim to create synergies.”

From now on, our quarterly newsletter keeps you updated about all events and news, that are relevant for the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and PA Culture. Moreover, we'd like to introduce you to our presence on Facebook. Find it here and read more about it below!

3rd Project Development Workshop
The 3rd Project Development workshop is scheduled to be held in Poland 16/17th June 2016 on the topic of Public Space Design. The event is going to be hosted by the Warsaw Prague Museum, however we will also explore public space design examples in the very interesting district of Praga on the eastern shore of the Vistula river. In the district, forgotten and marginalized over the second half of the 20th century, many old houses from before the 2nd world war can still be found - Roman Polanski used Praga as the shooting location for his film “The Pianist”. Nowadays, Praga is developing fast and you will get an idea of this development during the 3rd Project Development Workshop. All PA Culture Flagships are invited as well as projects dealing with and/or interested in public space design issues. Interested actors and projects are welcome to contact the Policy Area coordinators.

Seed Money
Two of our flagships are receiving Seed Money from EUSBSR Seed Money Facility. Congratulations to Creative Ports and Maritime Heritage Management! And also congratulations to DigArch_Ich, a great initiative started by the Latvian Academy of Culture, which PA Culture supports too. That really is great news for three outstanding projects from the Baltic Sea Region. Read more about our flagships here

Dissemination Seminars
PA Culture has just organized four seminars for cultural actors from BSR countries to disseminate the results and outcomes of PA Culture activities and flagships this spring. The seminars provided unique opportunities for everyone interested in the work of PA Culture and funding structures in the European Union. The seminars took place in four Baltic Sea Region capitals, Vilnius, Stockholm, Helsinki and Riga. About 200 individuals took advantage of the opportunity and great project ideas and proposals were discussed. Our impression in one sentence:

The Baltic Sea Region is full of dynamic and innovative potential in the Cultural and Creative Sectors! We're here to help activating it!

We will continue our work in order to support creative minds from across the region in order to bring about even more and fruitful international cooperation in the cultural and creative sector. We would like to thank our local partners for having us: Lithuanian Ministry for Culture, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Nordic Culture Point Helsinki, Goethe-Institut Riga and Radi! Creativity Week!

Guidance for Letter of Support
Funding programs such as Interreg and Creative Europe are increasingly asking funding applicants for a letter of support by the respective Policy Area. We'd like to kindly ask you to request such a letter of support from us at least three weeks before the submission deadline. Please find more info on our website

Social Media
We want to use our Facebook Page to make synergies, projects and innovations more visible on the internet. Please also make use of the hashtags #PACulture #BalticSeaRegion and #BSRCulture, that we can use to link all relevant material. If you have any other Social Media streams, please feel free to use the hashtags as well.

We want your pictures
Dear Flagships, we want your videos, pictures, blog entries in order to spread them via our network and tools. Please share your multimedia documentation of your project proceedings directly via mail or Facebook with us.

Looking forward to staying in touch with you!

Yours PA Culture Team
