Many people say they subscribe to a CSA because it makes cooking fun and exciting and it makes them try new things.  LIke many things in life, that can also be the most difficult part of a CSA!  We are used to starting with a recipe or general plan, then shopping for the ingredients we need (whether or not they're in season).  With a CSA, it's the opposite.  You are given the harvest direct from the farm and you go from there.  That can be a big adjustment even when you know you are getting higher quality, seasonal produce!

The great thing about Community Supported Agriculture is the community part!  We are all getting the same veggies!  So next time you think of a new idea for how to use your kohlrabi, share it on our Facebook page or Instagram and help your fellow CSA members out.  You may even think that your go to recipes are boring, but I think you'd be surprised by how many people haven't tried it yet and would love a new idea.  Let's put the "C" back in the CSA!

~ RECIPE ~
Garden Veggie & Chicken Stir Fry
 
Ingredients:
4 cups chopped fresh veggies (Kohlrabi, Zucchini,
Cabbage, Carrots, etc.)
2 chicken breasts cut into thin bit size pieces
2 cloves minced garlic
1 cup chicken stock
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 teaspoons cornstarch
Cooked brown rice

Directions:
Drizzle a teaspoon of oil into a pan on med-high heat. Cook chicken until it begins to turn white.
Add in garlic. Add in hearty vegetables, ¾ cup sto
ck, and soy sauce. Cover and cook for 3-5 minutes. Add remaining vegetables as appropriate
for cooking time. Once everything is in the pan pour in mixture of ¼ cup stock and cornstarch. Stir until sauce thickens. Serve over brown rice and enjoy!
