A Great time of the Year!
After a recent trip to Spain, Montana, and Vermont, I have some reflective time here at home until we travel to Belize in January. I find it’s a wonderful time to sit, relax, contemplate, and to just consider where I might want to go with my paintings. And, of course, valuable time spent with family, which means so much now that Ann and I are empty nesters. It’s at these times that I experiment and try new things, or I just enjoy where I’m at in my artistic interpretations.
Consider the beauty of our area:
A moon set over the Pacific as the sun rises to the east.
Clamdiggers at night with their lanterns shimmering up and down along the beach.
The sunrise over the Willapa Bay.
A lower slant of sunlight creating turquoise and violet scintillating shadows in the waves.
A Sou- Wester storm making its way up the bay.
Flocks of ducks and snipe migrating south in large masses that dance along the shore.
Seaweed coming in on the bay- it’s purple sheen against the yellow-green marshland.
So not only is this absolutely a beautiful time of the year in so many ways, but also a time of reflection, family time, and relaxation.
How fortunate I am!
