Downtown Reimagined Receives Minister's Approval

The City of Brampton received approval from the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change for the Downtown Brampton Streetscaping Environmental Assessment project, also called Downtown Reimagined. With this decision, the City will move ahead with detail design phase for the streetscaping work and the preferred cross-section as per the Environmental Assessment, but with a condition that any loading zones or accessible parking spots are to be placed where feasible and shall not impede the cycle lanes.

Upcoming Tunnel Investigation Work on Queen and Main in February

Downtown businesses owners and operators please be advised of the following upcoming tunnel investigation work to commence as follows:

Main Street (east side) from CIBC to approximately Vivian Lane
Work will be completed in the parking lane for a duration of four days
between February 5 to 8

Queen Street (north side between Main Street
and 100m west of Main Street)
Work will be completed in the parking lane
for a duration of one day on February 9

Queen Street (north side between Main Street
and 100m west of Main Street)
Work will be completed in the parking lane
for a duration of one day on February 12

Main Street and Wellington Street (intersection work)
Work will be completed in the intersection
for a duration of one day on February 10 (weekend work)
 
All work is subject to weather permitting. All sidewalks and business accesses will be maintained for the duration of the investigation
