Downtown Brampton BIA gearing up to Launch e-Gift Card
The Downtown Brampton BIA is excited to announce a new e-Gift Card pilot program, which is a universal “electronic” gift card that can be used at participating Downtown Brampton BIA businesses. Not sure what to buy for family and friends this holiday season? The Downtown Brampton e-Gift Card is great choice - they can shop online or in-person from a wide range of main street businesses in a contactless and easy manner! Our Downtown Brampton e-Gift Cards will be able to be purchased online through the PAIY app and the BIA’s website, Instagram & Facebook.
This e-Gift card is super easy to use and the BIA encourages interested businesses to sign up for this pilot program. If you are interested in becoming an authorized e-Gift Card vendor that accepts Downtown Brampton e-Gift Cards please email Teagan (Teagan.PecoskieSchweir@brampton.ca) by December 8th. We will be sending a merchant welcome kit with more details on how the Downtown Brampton BIA e-Gift Card program works.
The Downtown Brampton BIA e-Gift Card is a pilot program will run from December 9, 2020 through to February 28, 2021, in partnership with the Digital Main Street Future Proof Program, the RIC Centre and technology provider 4Pay. Any e-Gift cards that are not redeemed by the end of the pilot study can be easily converted to another gift card (or Brampton DT Dollar certificates).
Digital Main Street Service Squad for Downtown Brampton BIA Businesses! Extended to December 15, 2020
This is a reminder to all the businesses in the BIA to apply for the $2,500 Digital Main Street grants. If you have not already been contacted or started the application process, please reach out to info@wingedwhalemedia.com and/or Jason at 647.234.9802. The grant has been extended to Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Winged Whale Media has been hired to help businesses through the application and consult once the grant has been approved. This is a great opportunity for the downtown business to boost their online presence in the face of tightening restrictions and holiday shopping. #strongertogether"
The Downtown Brampton BIA will be hosting a virtual Coffee Talk with Executive Director Suzy Godefroy, Lee St. James from the RIC Centre, and Emma O’Malley - BIA board member and marketing team lead to talk about the new Downtown Brampton BIA e-Gift Card program which will be officially unveiled on Wednesday December 9, 2020. The Downtown Brampton BIA will also be discussing the importance of digital and social media marketing this holiday season and will highlight a number of really exciting holiday campaigns that our happening in our amazing downtown core!
Peel to Charge businesses That Fail to take Steps to Prevent or Stop the Spread of COVID-19
Business owners and operators who fail to take necessary action to prevent or stop spread of COVID-19 in the workplace now face a fine of $5,000 per day under aSection 22 Orderissued Saturday by Peel Public Health.
The businesses of Downtown Brampton are excited to launch the new pilot program MyDowntown Brampton Local Delivery created by our downtown businesses community to add some peace of mind and a little convenience for your busy lifestyle! The program will be available from October 28, 2020 – December 31, 2020.

Save the Date: Virtual Holiday Business Mixer - December 8, 2020 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Bring your holiday cheer, for this year's Virtual Holiday Mixer. The Downtown Brampton BIA is excited to partner again with The Brampton Board of Trade, and the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre and Economic Development at the City of Brampton for an evening of networking.
With winter on the horizon, downtown storefront windows are visibly showing more dirt and debris. Add the current lockdown, with less people at work, it is super important that you monitor the exterior of your property and storefront windows on a regular basis. If you are looking for some assistance, the DBBIA currently uses ProClean Window Cleaning, who can provide you with a quote of how much it would cost to have your windows cleaned! Support Local and Support You Downtown by purchasing Downtown Dollars for your employees this year!
MyDowntown Brampton Dollars can be purchased at the Downtown Brampton BIA by emailing Teagan at Teagan.PecoskieSchweir@brampton.ca with your MyDowntown Dollar purchase request. The Downtown Brampton BIA is currently selling Downtown Dollars in increments of $10.00 & $25.00 at this time, if you would like to purchase multiple dollars (I.e. $1000 or more) the BIA can also customize your request. Following your request and payment in full, the BIA will arrange a time for you to pick up the Downtown Dollars at the BIA office via curbside pick-up.
Regional Councillor Vicente and Councillor Santos are working on a special holiday cheer video with local musicians, similar to the Lean on Me video that they produced back in April 2020. At this time, downtown business owners are invited to send the BIA some fun and upbeat photos of you and your staff getting ready for the holiday season. We ask that the photos you send over include some festive flair in them with lots of smiling faces and to also include some photos of your store displays etc. . Councillor Vicente and Councillor Santos are planning to highlight support for our downtown business community.
