Downtown Brampton BIA Annual General Meeting: Thank you!
On behalf of the Downtown Brampton BIA board of directors and staff we wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the DBBIA AGM. Your interest and support in developing the Downtown Brampton business district as a vibrant and happening place is what makes our downtown such a great place to live, work, play and discover. This year’s AGM included a showcase of some of downtown Brampton’s finest restaurants and food providers and the BIA would like to formally thank the following businesses for participating:

Our formal presentation included an update on the Downtown Brampton Streetscaping Improvements by Jayne Holmes, Director of Capital Works, the DBBIA Annual Report, the 2016 DBBIA Financials and the DBBIA 2016 Audited Financial Statements. In addition to general business, the Downtown Brampton BIA brought guest speaker Jeremy Freiburger from CoBALT Connects who inspired us all on the incredible opportunities for our downtown core.
Downtown Brampton Latinfest: Sunday, June 25
The Downtown Brampton BIA is proud to sponsor the fourth annual Latinfest, happening on June 25th in downtown Brampton. Sponsorship packages range from $250.00, $500.00, to $1000.00. Thursday Night Concert Series, June 1st to August 31st!
Thursday Night Concert Series is back for another exciting year of entertainment! This year's line-up features a special Canada 150 component to each performance. Beginner Self Defense Workshop: June 6th, 6:00-7:00PM
The Brampton Academy of Martial Arts will be hosting a beginner self defense course. This session is an excellent way to increase awareness to surroundings and to avoid potentially dangerous situations. Topics would cover striking and kicking techniques, as well as, defensive techniques against common holds and grabs, from standing. COST IS FREE TO ALL BIA MEMBERS. Bike to Work Day: Monday, May 29
The City of Brampton and the Downtown BIA will be hosting the fifth annual Bike to Work Day Breakfast event in the Garden Square from 7:30 – 9 A.M. Guest speakers Mayor Linda Jeffrey and Police Chief Jennifer Evans will be attending the event.  Bike to Work Day is an annual celebration to kick off Bike Month, focused on promoting cycling as a viable and healthy option for commuting to work.
Strategic Planning Workshop:
Tuesday, May 30th 9:00-10:30AM
The DBBIA board of directors are currently working on a new Strategic Plan for Downtown Brampton in  2017 to 2020. We invite all interested BIA members to attend this workshop to help us shape the direction and initiatives for the DBBIA board of directors, staff and committees.
Canada 150 Window Decorating Contest
A special part of the summer season is the CANADA 150 Window Decorating Contest which will run from Thursday,June 1 – Saturday,July 1, 2017. Windows are to be decorated by May 31, 2017. CANADA 150 Window Decorating Judges will be out and about to choose the top three windows in downtown Brampton on June 28-30, 2017. All winners will be formally awarded at the Downtown Brampton BIA Fall Business Mixer on Tuesday, September 19 from 6 – 8 p.m. To register your business please contact Bobby Karmakar at pran.karmakar@brampton.ca
 
Downtown Brampton Farmers Market: Booth Opportunity
The Downtown Brampton Farmers’ Market provides residents and visitors with an open-air market experience where they can purchase a diverse array of fresh produce, baked goods and prepared foods straight from the producer. Every year, the DBBIA offers all BIA members the opportunity to set up a corporate booth on one of the Saturdays from June 17th – October 7th, 2017.
