In 2013, the widow of the late Theodor Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) discovered a nearly complete manuscript, written and illustrated, of a never-before-seen book: What Pet Should I Get?
Published July in 2015
Seuss' scholars believe What Pet Should I Get? was written between 1958 and 1962. Why was it hidden/lost for so many years? We will never know the answer. Perhaps Dr. Seuss wasn't pleased with the final manuscript? Or maybe he wanted to tweak the ending? Or possibly he wanted develop the artwork further? Or maybe he was distracted by life and simply forgot about it? Creative minds are often absent minded. :)

I'm neither a Seuss scholar or a critic. But I am always intrigued by his works. In What Pet Should I Get? he asks a question that is never answered in the story. Instead, he leaves the reader to decide.
Creativity begets creativity? Perhaps learning is most powerful when it includes discovery and responsibility.
