THE THREAT HAS GONE FROM AMBER TO RED
A few weeks ago, nobody was supporting a Bypass through Binsted. Now,
- OneArundel is supporting Option 5A through Binsted
- Arun District Council's officers are recommending ADC should support it
- West Sussex County Council's officers are recommending WSCC should support it
Why, when back in July all three were supporting Option 3 (Pink-Blue)? Because Highways England have done a hatchet job on Binsted. They have made Option 5A look attractive by wrong and missing facts in their consultation materials.
- Nobody going to the exhibitions would know there is a community in Binsted, or how important the well-walked quiet, historic landscape here is to the other villages.
- Bats? Crazy! They didn't want you to know we have 13 bat species in Binsted.
- Impact on woodland in Binsted, or on Binsted Park? Airbrushed out of their maps.
- Big benefits from the Binsted Option due to reducing rat-running? Very questionable un-evidenced figures, and in any case wiped out by their predicted 6000/day increase in traffic through Walberton Village on Yapton Lane.
