Are You Listening?

I've never listened to an audio book.

I'm aware that some people prefer audio books  over reading text, including some of my best friends.

Studies claim retention is better when one "hears" the book and that the narrator makes the book come alive.
I'm also aware that it is an effective and convenient way to read. Every author knows, without readers, we are nothing.

According to Western Downs Libraries,

—  27% of the Kindergarten to Year 12 population are auditory learners

— Students can listen and comprehend two grade levels above their reading level when regularly listening to audio books

— Combining print and audio increases recall by 40 percent over print alone

Recently I attended a "how to" seminar to learn about audio books
and converting my print and e-books to audio. The presenter was brilliant and I left the session excited to begin the process.

It's easier than I feared. It will actually be fun.

I have to make some preliminary decisions. Which book should I focus on first? My first release, and follow in chronological order? Or my most recent release, and work backwards?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on audio books in general and my predicament of who to "bring to life first." Valerie Daniels? Cassidy Hoake? Noreen Jensen?

What do you think?
