Redistricting In Michigan the MICRC and Communities of Interest

The League of Women Voters of Macomb County is hosting a virtual town hall on the Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission’s process in drawing new legislative and congressional maps. Bev Bishop, of The LWV Macomb, will discuss redistricting in Michigan, the commission, and opportunities for the public, including Communities of Interest, to provide input to the commission before it draws the maps. New Grants Database

Thank you to Advancing Macomb for funding one year of access to the Foundation Directory Online (FDO) provided by Candid! FDO is the most extensive, up-to-date database of philanthropic giving available. This resource can help you build your prospect list, look at previous awardees’ profiles, and enhance your understanding of funding that may be available at an individual or organization level. Learn how to write a grant proposal, find out when you should approach a foundation for funding and other tips and tricks that may help. Grants to Individuals is also available to people looking for funding for individual projects not associated with an organization. Access them on the Advanced Research page under Grants

Tomlinson Arboretum Poetry Walk
May 10 – Sept. 26, 2021

Visit the Tomlinson Arboretum, west of the Main Library, to find poems placed throughout the natural setting of the park. The poems include contemporary and classic works mounted near benches. Pick up a map at either entrance or access it online before your visit and enjoy the poems as you walk through the park.
