NATIONAL CALL - Guest Speaker - Dr. Shi-Ling Hsu,
CCL Advisor, book author, and University Professor

Dr. Shi-Ling Hsu is the John W. Larson professor and Associate Dean for Environmental Programs at the Florida State University College of Law. He is the author of The Case for a Carbon Tax: Getting Past our Hang-ups to Effective Climate Policy, which remains the most comprehensive general treatment and argument for carbon taxation. If you don’t have time to read the whole book, but are interested to learn the arguments and conclusions here’s a link to a handy 8-page summary of Dr. Hsu’s bookHe teaches and writes in the areas of environmental and natural resource law, climate change, law and economics, and property.

Let us know if you can make it by replying to this email. Hope to see you!

DID YOU SEE DR. JAMES HANSEN'S RECENT INTERVIEW ABOUT HURRICANE HARVEY and CLIMATE CHANGE?
Dr. Hansen is one of my heroes. As a NASA scientist, he sounded the alarm about Climate Change back in 1988, describing the severe storms and sea level rise we are seeing now.  After that, despite being an introverted former farm boy from the mid-West, he started speaking out as an activist.  Check out a recent interview he gave on Democracy Now.

ARE YOU A NEW MEMBER OF CCL WHO CAN'T MAKE IT TO THE MEETING?
Here are two baby steps you can take:
  1. Sign up for CCL texts. You’ll receive occasional text messages from Citizens’ Climate Lobby alerting you to timely actions in support of climate solutions
  2. Listen to or Watch the Intro Call.
  3. If you have already listened to the Intro Call,  Watch Lesson One of Climate Advocate Training.
