Become Involved with our Action Teams

Get involved!

To increase our effectiveness, we created Action Teams in our chapter. For the past few months, we've been breaking into Action Teams for the last part of our mtg, and it's gone so well that we wanted to deepen the concept and encourage people to join a team or two (or three!).

Current Action Teams
1. Membership
2. Rural Action
3. Writer's Workshop
4. Outreach
5. Media
6. Endorsers

We'd love to support you in finding a team to fit your passion, strengths and experience. More information on teams will be available at our next mtg, and / or you can reply to this email to sign up.

Join a Discussion course!
Change is Our Choice: Creating Climate Solutions

The Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) in connecction with CCL is starting a discussion course based upon climate action. The intent is to have multiple groups happening all around town on different evenings of the week starting mid-February. The following is excerpted from the NWEI website on the course itself:

"The science has long been settled: climate change is real and it’s happening all around us right now. Our new five-session discussion course on climate action will help you take action to increase resilience and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Presented in an interactive ebook, this new discussion course experience integrates video, audio and printed content with action plans that help you roll your sleeves up and get started taking action toward a better tomorrow." -

Alaska Big Dividend Tour!
George,Tamara and her 8-year old daughter. Kaya, recently completed Part I of the Alaska Big Dividend Tour, traveling 767 miles from Kodiak to Fairbanks along the Alaskan 'rail-belt' to educate citizens and rally support for our Carbon Fee & Dividend solution (pricing carbon at the source and returning net revenues to American households in equal dividend checks or rebates). Considering CF&D was inspired and modeled after the Alaskan Permanent Fund (PFD), it is a fitting place to scatter the seeds.

All in all, the tour has been a great success on multiple levels. Quantitatively, over 14 days, they delivered 12 presentations in 8 towns & cities to over 550 people.  They started 1 new chapter, energized another, and got the ball rolling on developing at least 2 more. They took part in 3 radio interviews, 1 TV interview (CBS!), and multiple PSAs, which lead to the publication of at least 5 pieces of published media. They met with 1 newspaper editor, had 4 endorser Mtgs, and signed on 3 leaders to the Leaders' Letter. All of this with the direct support of 42 mostly non-CCLers throughout Alaska.

For more details, including qualitative successes, beautiful photos, and wonderful stories along the way, attend Tamara and George's talk on Sunday morning at the Regional Conference; follow our tour on Facebook @bigdividend; or encourage Tamara to share more at our upcoming Portland CCL mtg on March 11. George just left on Monday, Feb 20, for Part II of the Tour throughout SE Alaska. He'll be traveling for the next 2 weeks through Juneau, Petersburg, Ketchikan and Sitka, right up until he comes with updates to our Regional Conference! Stay tuned on FB (@bigdividend) for travel details.

We are interested in hearing your concerns and your perspective on where to go and what to do considering the latest political developments.
