We are so glad to be a part of the 2016 Ancora Imparo Leadership program. We started the program with a 3 day residential at the Balgownie Estate Vineyard which was really amazing, and not just because of the free wine tasting.  We got to listen to some influential speakers such as Mr. Julian Burnside and Dr Christine Nixon, and engage with them on a range of topics, and an absolute highlight was Pro Vice-Chancellor David Copolov serenading us Ancorans "What a Wonderful World" with his great voice. It was really interesting and at times quite surprising to explore our personal leadership style at the various workshops. They said at the start that we would come out of the residential changed people, which sounded a bit corny, but it was completely true - it really was quite extraordinary to be surrounded by so many fellow students who were inspired and motivated to make a difference.  We were put into teams with students from the other Faculties to explore an issue such as ‘Should health services be prioritised based on lifestyle choices?’, which we then discuss, debate and present at one of the monthly meetings. It is fascinating to see the completely different perspectives students from different disciplines bring to an issue. It is hard to describe how much you gain from this program, please do consider it, you won't regret it.

Ask Terence

Q. Hi Terence! I am feeling overwhelmed. Exams are just around the corner and I don't know where to start?

A. Start anywhere but you MUST START NOW.  Have you registered for the Library's exam preparation workshop yet? Get on to it fast. You could also look for past exam papers in our Search tool. And just a heads up, the exam invigilators are right on the ball at the exams – they even follow you to the toilet and report on your every move (don’t worry not movement).
