Lifelong Learning

Lifelong learning is the "ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated" pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons. Therefore, it not only enhances social inclusion, active citizenship, and personal development, but also self-sustainability, as well as competitiveness and employability.

RedChairPGH has been hard at work developing opportunities for our community to Grow, Learn and Lead!  Read on to learn what's been happening and what's coming up!

Learn to Lead! Scholarship Deadline June 15!!

RedChairPGH mission focuses on our local Pittsburgh region.  We believe that our regional focus allows us to create the relationships and continuity that enables real change here in our own back yard. We seek to correct the gender imbalance in our region’s technical professions, focusing on mid-career women in tech to ensure that all of the hard work done to get girls interested in STEM and young women graduating into tech careers isn't lost.  Statistics say women leave tech careers mid-career at twice the rate of men.

We are working to help turn that around in our region by offering leadership development scholarships for mid-career women in tech.  Apply now:

The response from Lucy Sanders, co-founder of NCWIT (National Center for Women in Technology) and the inspiration behind #sitwithme, is worth reading:

RedchairPGH is a network of women and men who are committed to creating gender balance in the Pittsburgh technology professions. We believe diverse teams increase innovation, opportunity and organizational results.
