Chemsafety's August Newsletter

Welcome to Chemsafety's August Newsletter.  In this edition;

An update from our Managing Director

We are now all enjoying the freedoms of Level 1. It has been heartening to see how well NZ has come out of Level 4 considering the earlier predictions. At Chemsafety we are working hard for our clients as they get their businesses back to their new normal. We have been helping with fit testing at District Health Boards and Councils as well as private businesses, which is such an important part of a Respiratory Protection Programme. We have been undertaking some free webinars to share our knowledge with our clients and they have been going really well. We have many more of these lined up as you will see further down in our newsletter. Please spread the word to anyone you think will find them useful.
Stay safe and healthy.

We have been undertaking a significant amount of respirator fit testing due to the pandemic. To upskill the team we put them through the newly developed Commit2Fit programme run by NZOHS. We are pleased to say that the following consultants have been deemed competent in both qualitative and quantitative fit testing.

•    Bridgette Jennings
•    Paul Robertson
•    Sam McGee
•    Steven Streeter

Breathe Freely

On 30 July the NZOHS launched Breathe Freely NZ. This programme aims to reduce dust disease in the NZ workforce. It includes a website with practical tools and information for industry to use to reduce dust levels. There will also be an accompanying roadshow to engage with industry in a positive and practical way. Breathe Freely was developed by the BOHS in the UK and adopted by the AIOH in Australia and its great to see it now in NZ. If your business generates dust please take the time to visit the site.
