College Staff Update

We would like to introduce a new staff member to the College, Liv Sullivan, who commenced work with us on Monday 6 February. Liv will be taking over the Communications role from Heather Dick Pere while she is on maternity leave.

Supervisor of Training Workshop

The College has announced its 2017 dates for its Supervisor of Training Workshops in Australia and New Zealand.

Facilitated by Dr Bronwyn Avard and A/Prof Bruce Lister, the workshop will include sessions on providing feedback and remediation techniques for poorly performing trainees.

CPD Online Diary – New look coming soon…

Our CPD Online Diary has been undergoing a revamp and will soon be re-launched with a new look. As well as refreshing up the design, the new site will be mobile-friendly. The CPD framework will remain the same. Look out for more information on the launch in the near future.

Burnout and Stress in the ICU


College Fellows, Nick Simpson and Cameron Knott, recently had an article published in MJA with a focus on burnout and stress in the ICU. The full article can be found here.

Have the Courage to Act on Burnout

Following the release of the Burnout article, CICM President Charlie Corke also wrote a piece on dealing with burnout, the full article can be found here.

Both Nick and Cameron are members of the College’s Welfare Special Interest Group that provide a forum for CICM Fellows to discuss welfare issues and workshop ideas for resources. If you are a Fellow and would like to be involved with the Welfare SIG, please contact Lisa Davidson.
