President's Message

Our chapter is continuing to grow in  every way. We are gaining wonderful  philanthropies to work for and our patronesses and ticktockers are  learning to stretch themselves.

While we continue to gain membership, we are still short of our fifty patronesses. For our chapter to become a chartered chapter, we must have fifty patronesses.

I have a challenge for each patroness, sponsor one new member during the upcoming October membership drive. We will discuss more about our membership drive at the upcoming patroness meeting on October 25.

Warmest Regards,
Debra Morris

Ticktocker News & Meeting Recaps

Our Ticktockers got off to a strong start with our Grade Level Trainings in September, working one on one with our Chapter’s Board Members to learn their new jobs for the 2016-2017 year.  Grade Level Meetings are in full swing as we head into the month of October.   All of our GLA’s have worked hard over the summer to plan beneficial meetings aligned with our Chapter’s 6 year plan, as well as, enriching and fun activities for our Ticktockers.  For the month of October, each grade level focused on creating group norms for the year, participating in activities that promote team bonding, and practice with running grade level board meetings.

Some Meeting Highlights Included:

Sophomores & Juniors:  These Ticktockers enjoyed learning some “Car Safety Essentials” which included changing a tire!

Freshmen:  The 9th graders were visited by Livermore Officer Craig Giacometti to get some important information on cyber bullying and internet/social media safety.

 Important Reminders for Ticktockers

**Make sure to come to your meetings      prepared with your board report.

**Reach out to your GLA or Board Member  Contact if you need help guidance with your job.
**Be consistent with attending grade level meetings, completing your philanthropy hours, and logging in your hours on-line.

Juniors/Sophomores - Class of 2018/2019
In the October 2nd NCL meeting we learned about car maintenance and safety. Greg Trautwein and Scott Roberts were the guest speakers at this meeting. We learned how to properly change a tire and to be safe while changing the tire. We talked about Kids Against Hunger and opening that up for volunteering. We also talked about the sophomore gift exchange at Rosetta during Christmas time and the date of when it will be held.
Freshman - Class of 2020
For the October NCL meeting of the Class of 2020 we learned about cyber bullying and internet and social media safety.  Officer Craig Giacometti from the Livermore Police Dept spoke at the meeting.  He discussed a few cases he had worked on that involved internet safety.  We started planning a Secret Santa exchange for the holidays.
