Rehabilitation Mapping GIS Portal Project

The Division is aiming to improve transparency in the reporting and regulation of rehabilitation in NSW by developing a state-wide Global Information System (GIS) database of disturbance and rehabilitation data for NSW mines.

This project is known as the Rehabilitation GIS Portal Project and is currently being developed.

The Division presents a range of important facts and numbers relating to resources in NSW. Metrics include the number of jobs associated, production volumes and financial, mining titles and mines information.

Title Services Quarterly Performance Report released

The Quarterly Performance Report for 1 July 2017 to 30 September 2017 was released on 12 October 2017.  This report provides a summary of the operational performance for the provision of Titles Services within the Division.

Now in effect: the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016

New biodiversity laws, which commenced on 25 August 2017, establish important new requirements for the way mining and petroleum projects assess and offset their impacts on biodiversity. A range of savings provisions are now in place to ensure a smooth transition to the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.

Process Changes to Titles Operations

The Division continues to implement progressive amendments to its titles operations processes to improve service delivery to industry. These include one legislation and one process amendment and updated application forms to ensure all required information for assessment is received.

Resources Customer Portal

The Division is improving its systems and services through the introduction of the Resources Customer Portal. This Portal provides convenient access to exploration applications. The Portal can be used to initiate, save, manage, submit and pay for exploration applications by both title holders and agents. The portal has some great features including geospatial functionality to allow the user to visually select the areas that they wish to apply for. The following services are currently available to you via the portal:

•    Application for an exploration licence (EL1)
•    Application to renew an exploration licence (EL5)
•    Notice to withdraw an application or objection (AD13).
