UCR Orchestra welcomes renowned pianist Nadia Shpachenko performing the fiery, tender Piano Concerto No. 1 by Chopin. The program also features Bartok’s Hungarian Sketches, the witty Jeux d’Enfants (“Children’s Games”) by Bizet, and Schubert’s heart-rending Symphony No. 8 (“Unfinished”).

Nadia Shpachenko has been described as a “truly inspiring and brilliant pianist. . . spellbinding in sensitivity and mastery of technique.”  She is renowned particularly for brilliant explorations of contemporary music. Her CD “Woman at the New Piano: American Music of 2013” was nominated for Grammy awards in three categories.  Concert highlights include solo recitals at Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, the Phillips Collection, and REDCAT@Disney Hall, as well as many appearances with orchestras in Europe and the Americas. She is Professor of Music at Cal Poly Pomona and Claremont Graduate University.

Walk-Up Tickets: available one hour before each performance

No Reserve Seating: Seating in some venues is limited, so arrive early for best seats.
Events begin promptly at the announced curtain time.
Latecomers will be seated at an appropriate pause in the program as designated by the management.
Please order carefully. No exchanges or refunds will be made, except in the event a performance is canceled.
Regardless of age, all patrons must have a ticket. Infants on laps are not permitted.

Parking: $5.50 in Lot 6  - no fee with UC permit
