"Lowcountry Proud" and "Lowcountry Strong" are so much more than hashtags or slogans. They are a representation of our Lowcountry community and our incredible resilience. Though we were spared any significant damage from Hurricane Dorian, our community quickly came together in support of one another. As early as Thursday and into the weekend, neighbors were seen helping neighbors, businesses reopened, hotels and resorts began accepting guests, and the local airports began accepting flights.

We applaud our emergency response teams - our Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, the Town of Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island, county staff, and elected officials. They worked tirelessly to keep us informed and safe as Hurricane Dorian passed off of our coast. Our thoughts are with those who experienced a much more significant impact from Hurricane Dorian.
