An update from the Commodore
for the 2019 season.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday and are thinking about getting back to the OYC. As we flip the calendar to February, I wanted to give you a little heads up on what is happening behind the scenes as we prepare for the season.

Adele is already hard at work planning our social calendar. She has listened to requests and suggestions and will do her best to bring us a variety of music styles and activities. We had our first Cabin Fever day January 18 at Auburn Ale House and another planned at the Oak & Vine at the Springside Inn on Friday, February 8.  Details can be found on the website and Members Only Facebook.
Mark your calendar for our opening event, Saturday, June 15
with music by “Magical Mystery Tour” as requested by many of our members.
Other events will be planned before the “official” opening, because as you know, we’re not just active during the summer months. Stay tuned for email and social media updates.
We are pleased to welcome Aimee LeFever as the OYC’s new Kitchen Director. She is taking over from past director, Tracy Stewart.  Thank you Tracy for all of your work over the past couple of years! Aimee has a lot of professional experience in the food service industry and will be a welcome addition to our board. I know you’re all wondering who will be operating the kitchen this year, Aimee is in the process of scheduling meetings with potential operators. We’ll keep you informed when a decision is made, but we’re optimistic that the outcome will be a good one. The kitchen is a great benefit of membership but hopefully not the only reason to be a member.
Speaking of membership, Tom and Cathy O’Toole have been active through the fall and winter months and have received requests for sponsorship of new members. You can reach them at Details can be found on our website at
From the Treasurer
2019 invoices have been emailed so keep an eye out for it if you haven’t already received it. Sometimes computers have hiccups so if you received two copies, you can disregard one. 1/2 is due March 31 and the balance is due by May 31. There is a $15 late fee added for payments received after May 31. We don't anyone resign, but if situations require that you must, please do so by March 31.
Social Media
We will continue to send out timely emails with upcoming events and information you will want to know about.  Bounced emails have been practically non-existent so if you aren’t receiving them, there’s probably a good reason. Our website will be updated as events occur as will our Member’s Only Facebook page. If you aren’t a friend, send a request to and join in.
Speaking of email, if you have any questions or concerns regarding the OYC, please send a message to We will respond as quickly as possible, but please remember, we’re just volunteers and sometimes life gets in the way.

Membership Survey
We were pleased with how many of our members responded to the survey that was sent in the fall. Thank You to all who participated! We are going over the responses and will take each of them seriously. A report should be ready fyi later this spring.
Show Your Colors
Don’t forget you can get custom OYC logo merchandise from Colella’s Embroidery. Check out the website for more information on how to order. There is information as well as a link for ordering information on the website under the "Members" tab.
That’s about if for now, the board of directors is just getting back in the swing of things after our brief fall/holiday hiatus. Stay tuned, stay in touch and stay happy!
