Congratulations to the new Toastmasters Club:  Successful Next Steps!!

Are you interested in becoming part of the founding members of Successful Next Steps or would you like to come along as a guest (for free) to see what it's all about?

We'd love to have you join us!

Attending toastmasters has been a powerful and effective tool for handling all kinds of speaking engagements in life and business, particularly with job search: networking, interviews, elevator pitches etc.

Wednesday 12pm-1pm is the regular day and time for this meeting
- This new club benefits from in person and virtual mentoring and support from experienced and official Toastmasters
- The club will feature guest speakers and topics specific to career exploration, development, job search and you get to have the say on various themes/talks/direction of this group!
- The new member books have been ordered an on their way
- Learn about executive team positions that can offer you that extra edge in your career - our club exec will be voted in the new year!
- Official Toastmasters Successful Next Steps website is in the process of being created and launched.

 

Looking for our Schedule?


Our meetings vary each month as we rotate around different library locations or other free venues and depends on availability of room bookings and volunteer facilitators. Please see below for the list of upcoming meetings. Anytime you can search "Laid Off Calgary" in eventbrite for the current published meetings. Please always register if you are interested in attending and no problem to cancel prior (just let us know) so we can make sure we accommodate everyone.

Tips & Resources

Request to join (using a desktop computer) a volunteer moderated Facebook Group for interactive sharing, discussion on job search, career exploration, networking, local resources and more.

Looking for fresh fruit and veg? Check out the good food box, no income criteria or referrals required. Service starts again in January.

Have you heard about Mentoring Monday's? Join the meet up group for collaborative and helpful work search strategies.

About our meetings 

Our meetings are facilitated peer support group sessions. Highly interactive, engaging, positive and interesting learning opportunities. Newcomers and past participants are welcome in all meetings. Please register for each meeting you wish to attend. You may find more value in consistently attending a regular meeting time each week to be able to get to know and network with others and build upon themes from each meeting. Still not sure how it works? Visit our website here to see an info graphic. 

Peer support group meetings are held at different locations depending on the date and time and are always free. Find us on Eventbrite (search for Laid Off Calgary) to find a meeting and register! Add yourself to the waitlist if you see the registration is full for the week. There are often last minute changes.
