- Adobe at Home-

Greetings Alviso Adobe friends,

April is Citizen Science month and the push for environmental education and science advancement continues beyond this month. As a citizen scientist, you can share and contribute to data monitoring and collection programs that range from transcribing historical documents to making food for ants. Support and celebrate Earth Day, Arbor Day, and Citizen Science with us from the comfort of your home and neighborhood. We have compiled the following resources and virtual programs for you to continue connecting with your community and help make science happen!
Continue to learn all about the Alviso Adobe’s rich history by checking out an immersive virtual tour of our park. Have school children? Take a look at our recorded fieldtrip lessons and suggested activities. We hope you continue to discover, connect, and enjoy the Alviso Adobe Community Park from home.

- Animal Highlights-

One of my favorite pastimes is to listen to and observe birds. Just now, I can hear the musical notes of the American Robin, a familiar sound of spring and the Mourning Dove with its mournful coo-ah, coo, coo, coo. Come to think of it, I think it is the sense of familiarity that draws me to these spectacular organisms. My heart swells with joy and I am always amazed at how gracious, swiftly, and highly intelligent these animals are. And this applies for all groups of animals! If you are looking for a way to connect with nature during these times, pick a group of animals and study them. Learn about their quirks, sounds, and where they spend their time. Nature is all around us, from the cracks of a garage, to our front doors, and backyards. I hope you find the following highlighted animals and tidbits illustrative of Pleasanton's wildlife diversity.
