Stained glass window art

Amidst the enchanting surroundings of the Sonian Forest you will come across four new art installations. Artist Kristof Morel is responsible for creating four impressive stained glass windows, each of which alludes to the stages of development of four animal species whose very lives depend on their local natural habitat: the purple emperor butterfly, the midwife toad, the kingfisher and the stag beetle. You can discover Morel’s creations close to the Hoeilaart (Groenendaal), Sint-Genesius-Rode (Middenhut), Tervuren and Overijse (Jezus-Eik) access gateways, respectively.
Want to see them all? We've created a new cycling route based on our node-to-node cycling network that connects all four artworks.
