Welcome Back

The weather was perfect for our welcome back BBQ which had a great turn out. Special thanks to Janice Palmer for organizing the used clothing sale. We have two new instructors and a new communications and office coordinator this year and our musical ride is starting to look great.

Upcoming Annual Open House

It's getting close to that time of year with our upcoming Open House which will take place on Sunday, October 2 from 1pm- 4pm. We will be performing Musical Rides for the public, offer Pony Rides, have our Canteen running which means of course we need your help as volunteers. We need lots of volunteers willing to help with the barn tours, arranging pony rides, overseeing the canteen, setting up before the event and of course dismantling afterwards. Please add your name to the VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP sheet posted in the lobby. Thank you.

Musical Ride at Upcoming Fall Fair

Lancers has been invited to the Fall Fair to perform the Musical Ride. This is an extremely exciting venture for our riders and horses who have been working all year long. Performances will take place 4pm on Saturday & 6pm Sunday.

Salmon River Camps 2017

Our first Salmon River Camps were a huge success and a great experience for our riders and a welcome reprieve with a new setting for our horses.

For the summer of 2017 we're pleased to offer pre-authorized debit in the amount of $60/month starting October 1 to August 1st for those families who found it difficult to make the lump sum payment. We will still accept registration with a deposit in May for families who wish to enroll who don't want to do the pre-authorized payment scheme.

While dates for the summer 2017 have yet to be confirmed we are currently looking at August 14- 18 & August 21- 25 with our usual trial rides offered during the weekend for adult members.

If you are interested in adding your child/s to this program please email the office.

New Instructors

We are thrilled to have Belinda Maier joining us. She will be instructing on Wednesday nights.
Lauren Willett will also be joining the team and will teach on Monday nights and Saturday afternoons.
Melissa Reid will continue to instruct on Tuesday nights.
Pat Steele will continue to instruct on Thursday nights.
Alex Brisseau will instruct on Friday nights & Saturday mornings.
Angie Holt as usual does all our weekday afternoon classes.

New Communications & Office Coordinator

Renee Field is our new Communications & Office Coordinator. She is in the office on Monday & Tuesday from 10am - 3pm & Wednesday 10am - 2pm and she will be checking emails and voice messages on Thursday and Friday. If you need to drop something into the office and she is not there please feel free to drop items in the slot to the left of the office door.

We are looking at adding a second daytime lesson for adults on Tuesday mornings at 10am. We would like to offer our existing members to join this ride first before we open it up to our wait list. Please contact our office if this is of interest to you before October 1, 2016. This new lesson will start in October.

AUGUST BARNSTARS

Congratulations to Susan Ramsey & Charlotte Grace who were the winners of the August BarnStars Draw.

Sincere thanks are extended to all the hardworking Lancers who make a difference at the barn.

Keep up the great work!

The Barn Star Program

Every rider at Lancers (Juniors and Adults) have the opportunity to earn barn stars throughout the year and every 3 stars accumulated equals one ballad in a monthly draw for a semi-private lesson.

As an example on how to earn barn stars:

  • helping to unload hay earns 1 barn star

  • unloading shavings earns 2 barn stars

  • Saturday night hay earns 1 barn star

  • & other barn stars may be given out at the managements discretion for people going above and beyond.
