Reminder Upcoming Annual Open House

This coming weekend is our Annual Open House on Sunday, October 2 from 1pm- 4pm. We will be performing the Musical Ride for the public, offer Pony Rides and Barn Tours, and have our Canteen running which means of course we need your help as volunteers. We need lots of volunteers willing to help with the barn tours, arranging pony rides, overseeing the canteen, setting up before the event and of course dismantling afterwards. Please add your name to the VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP sheet posted in the lobby. Thank you.


Light Horse Show at Upcoming Atlantic Agriculture Fall Fair

We are very excited to be asked to participate in the upcoming Agriculture Fall Fair taking place on Wednesday, October 5 - Friday, October 7, 2016. We encourage everyone to attend to show support for the club. If you’d like to volunteer please contact the office at (902) 423-6723 or email 

Musical Ride at Upcoming Fall Fair

Lancers has been invited to the Fall Fair to perform the Musical Ride. This is an extremely exciting venture for our riders and horses who have been working all year long. Performances will take place 4pm on Saturday & 6pm Sunday. 

Important Notice: Salmon River Camps 2017

For the summer of 2017 we're pleased to offer pre-authorized debit in the amount of $60/month starting October 1 to August 1st for those families who found it difficult to make the lump sum payment. We will still accept registration with a deposit in May for families who wish to enroll who don't want to do the pre-authorized payment scheme.

While dates for the summer 2017 have yet to be confirmed we are currently looking at August 14- 18 & August 21- 25 with our usual trial rides offered during the weekend for adult members.

If you are interested in adding your child/s to this program please email the office.

Night Hay Volunteers Needed

Beginning October 7, 2016 we will need Nigh Hay volunteers every Saturday night. Please sign your name to the Night Hay calendar in the lobby. We ask that you be an adult member or a junior member in Rides 1-4. Volunteers will get a barn star for every time they do night hay. If you’ve never done night hay please check with Angie Holt personally before signing up.

New Bangel Lancers Clothing Orders

There will be another Lancer clothing order going out in November. Please stay tuned.

New Communications & Office Coordinator

Renee Field our new Communications & Office Coordinator will be in the office next week on Tuesday & Wednesday from 10am - 3pm & Thursday 10am - 2pm and return to regular office the following week (Monday - Tuesday 10am-3pm & Wednesday 10am-2pm). If you need to drop something into the office and she is not there please feel free to drop items in the slot to the left of the office door.

Seeking a New Fridge

We are looking to replace our old leaky fridge in the feed room so if anyone has a fridge in working order that they would like to donate please let us know.

Make-Up Policy

  • If you can’t make a lesson we need 24 hour notice for you to be eligible for a make-up, but please give as much notice as possible.
  • You can only make-up your ride after you’ve missed a class.
  • You can ride up or down one level for a make-up class.
  • Email the office at or call (902) 423-6723.
  • Please ensure to speak clearly if leaving a message stating your name or the child’s first and last name and their riding level.
  • As stated on your application form, Lancers is not required to provide make-ups for missed rides but we will do our best to accommodate requests.

The Barn Star Program

Every rider at Lancers (Juniors and Adults) have the opportunity to earn barn stars throughout the year and every 3 stars accumulated equals one ballad in a monthly draw for a semi-private lesson.

As an example on how to earn barn stars:

  • helping to unload hay earns 1 barn star

  • unloading shavings earns 2 barn stars

  • Saturday night hay earns 1 barn star

  • & other barn stars may be given out at the managements discretion for people going above and beyond.
