What’s New in March?

Art Show 3-25-23 &

Fresh Classes with me

Dear <<First Name>> ,

I want you to be the first to hear about the plans I am making for March and April. ❤️

First up, here is your early invitation to my Spring Art Show on Saturday March 25. My art shows have become an excuse to have a private party in a public place. We eat, drink and make merry with musical friends sitting in and filling the night with song. Bring your own guitar or percussion and join the fun!

We do it all with the goal of raising money for charity ( New Directions of Myrtle Beach will be our recipient this quarter) Paying the rent on my studio is also a goal, especially now that the price was recently doubled! Yikes!

This is the way I look at it, if I’m meant to continue to teach in the studio, then maybe more people will be interested in buying art. 🙏🏽

How about Studying with me this month!

This week long course will feature a variety of themes including landscape, marine subjects, reflections and shadows. Steve’s rich and vibrant painting style and his enthusiastic demonstrations and guidance will inspire you to paint with more confidence and find your own artistic style while painting.

  • Every day will begin with a demonstration followed by individual help.

  • Sunday April 16 at 4pm there will be the opportunity to set up your table and take part in an informal Meet and Greet with light refreshments.

  • Your own table will be yours for the week with access before and after class time.

  • Classes will take place from 9 am-4pm Monday through Friday.

  • All students will have individual 6 ft. tables to spread out and paint.

Our classroom is oceanfront, providing ocean views and natural light as you paint. The oceanfront setting will inspire and soothe, and allow for refreshing walks on the beach. Some of our favorite local restaurants are within walking distance and Starbucks is on site.

  • Social Opportunities: 2 organized evenings of optional dinners, and a meet and greet on the Sunday evening preceding our workshop. A list of favorite local restaurants will be provided.

Cost- 600

Hotel accommodations and meals are not included. If you wish to book your stay at the Grande Cayman Resort, special discount codes will be sent to you upon registration.

Looking back and looking ahead….

For those of you who were able to be part of the Hybrid Fancy Florals Course this month, it went even better than I dared to hope! Those who took the course before had an opportunity to try it all again in its new and improved form, and get feedback yet again for their efforts.

Whether we met online via Zoom or in the Studio, it was wonderful to connect with so many of you!

So often we begin courses, and then don’t finish them. I do it too. This hybrid repeat of the course was my effort to help you across the finish line. If you have feedback for me I would welcome your thoughts…

For those who did the course for the first time, I was very pleased to see how much the in-studio support helped you to actually do the lesson!

How many times do we watch an online video but never do the work?

Our studio days helped bring some easy accountability to the process of learning. Plus, we got to see all the ways these paintings could be expressed. Didn’t we have fun together?!

So, what does it mean for the future? I will definitely try to offer something like this hybrid course again. Doing the course both online and in-person seemed to be the best of both worlds.

Let me know if joining us next time would be of interest. I’d love to hear more about topics or lessons you’d enjoy studying with me. It’s always fun to hear from you!

Keep your brushes wet and let’s keep in touch,

With love and light,

PS- Another fun workshop is in the works…stay tuned!
