At STA, one of our goals is to have our youth parishioners to participate in the weekend liturgies. In support of this goal, our next Family Mass opportunity will be Sunday, April 23 at the 8:30 and 10:30 Masses. Please view the sign up to volunteer your child and family to participate. We look forward to having families and our youth take part in these ministries! If you have questions, please contact Holly Carter holly.byrkeland@gmail.com

Calling all dads of St. Thomas Aquinas: Do you enjoy camping and the outdoors, have a desire to pass on the Catholic faith to your sons and are interested in hanging out with other dads that share those interests? Troops of St. George Troop #2 invites all interested dads and sons to an open house campout to see what we are about and whether you would be interested in joining our group. Dads and sons are invited to come for all or part of the day on Saturday, April 1st at Ledges State Park for outdoors and faith activities. Please join us for any or all activities on Saturday. Questions about the Troops of Saint George or the open house campout can be directed to Ian Schneider (icschnei@yahoo.com or 515-520-0412).

A new project on the parish Buildings & Grounds committee's list is the main electrical disconnect for the building. This large switch, which kills all the electricity to the building, has not been used in over 25 years. The last time we had electricians working on a major project they opted to NOT use this disconnect, but rather have the City of Ames come out and kill electricity to the building at the utility pole. Reasoning - having not been moved in over 2 decades if they moved it to "off" and something "broke" we would have been without electricity for several weeks at a minimum. We are bringing in a company (Shermco Industries) in May to open up the panel, clean, inspect, test the 1200A switch ($2,700) - to replace the panel $44,000.
