South Exit Into Prayer Garden
Because of the condition of the wood and finish over the south exit into the prayer garden, the parish Buildings & Grounds committee is looking at removing the existing boards, fixing the holes in the wall behind those boards, re-coating the existing wall with a fresh, new color, and attaching EIFS panels (a lightweight material that has the appearance of stucco, very much like the exterior wall to the reconciliation chapel) in four quadrants. Notice that the resulting placement and colors is a cross which we feel is simple & subtle, yet attractive and appropriate for the location. Colors and the relocation/replacement of a flood light are still under consideration. The cost would be $4,500.
Again we are thankful to Accord Architecture for helping us to envision possible changes with drawing they provided at no cost to the parish.
Being the church doesn’t just happen at Sunday Mass.
Realm helps us serve you better and strengthens the parish community between Sundays.
WHAT IS REALM?
Realm is an online ministry tool designed for real-time connection. It helps our church connect with you and you connect with us. If you consider yourself part of this church community, you’ll love it. Realm allows you to manage your personal information and who is allowed to see it, control your giving, view and print your giving record, register, make payments for events, and keep in touch with the groups that matter to you.

WHAT ABOUT MY PRIVACY?
Your privacy is one of our greatest concerns. Realm is only made up of the people in your church, it’s not like a social network that’s open to everyone.
Realm keeps your data safe and gives you control over what information you share and who can see it.
You have complete control over who can see your contact and personal information.
Contact information is never public or searchable on the Internet. Any information you elect to make visible to your parish family is always protected behind a login.
Authorized staff will always have access to your profile information.
REGISTER TODAY!You can only register through an invitation from the parish (one of our security steps). If you would like to setup your profile in Realm, send an email to realm@STAparish.net. Please include a phone number or birthdate for authentication. You will be emailed an invite with instructions (the invite expires after 72hours).
We still have a PRINT bulletin. Pick one up at Mass this weekend!
Do you know someone (parishioner or not) who would appreciate and need our prayers? The network raises these people and their intentions to the Lord in prayer. All we ask is that the person who is being prayed for has given their permission for the information to be shared.
You are invited to send your prayer requests to firstname.lastname@example.org and these will be lifted to the Lord (confidentially) in prayer by the 178 members of the network!
You are also welcome to add your prayer requests to the prayer board in the Gathering Space (next to the elevator), but again, if you are asking for prayers for someone other than yourself, do not write a name UNLESS the person knows you are making their need public. THANKS.
Tune in on Friday, July 30 at 9:00am to "Making It Personal with Bishop Joensen." On his radio program, Bishop William Joensen of Des Moines will talk to STA parishioners Bob and Nannet Horton about their book, Missionary Parenting: Cultivating the 6 Key Relationships Essential to Your Domestic Church. (www.missionaryparenting.com)
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a hands-on approach to religious education for children 3-12 years old based on the Montessori Method. Recognizing that children have a unique and beautiful relationship with God, the aim of this method is to foster this relationship while helping children grow in an understanding of scripture and liturgy, thus allowing them to participate more fully in the center of the Church’s life – the Mass. STA families are invited to choose either Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) or Wednesday night Faith Formation for their children.
This year, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will be held at St. Cecilia Parish: Tuesday: 4:30 - 6:00 pm Level I (3-6 yrs. old) Level II (6-9 yrs. old)
Wednesday: 3:30 - 5:30 pm Level I (3-6 yrs. old) Level II (6-9 yrs. old) Level III (9-12 yrs. old)

Upper Parking Deck
Work is moving along quickly on the upper parking deck, despite the abundant sunshine and heat. This work is recommended every 6-8 years: 1. Remove and replace existing joint sealants at the saw cut joints in the upper deck with new urethane joint sealant and backer rod. 2. Remove and replace existing joint sealant at the intersection of the wall and the parking deck. 3. Grind off or remove existing traffic coating at the 4 drains and the entrance to the ramp and install new membrane with anti slip aggregate. 4. Remove existing expansion joint and install new joint with new blades and nosing sealant. 5. Apply clear penetrating sealer to the surface of the area after all areas are repaired.
Workmen many not be able to complete all the work at this time - some of the materials needed for the major expansion joint (between the on-grade deck and elevated deck), are hard to come by as a result of pandemic manufacturing and post-pandemic work.
