What’s in Season Now
Potatoes
There are more than 600 varieties of potatoes grown and sold in the US. They’re an excellent source of vitamins C and B6, potassium (more than a banana!) and are fat, sodium, and cholesterol-free.
Leeks
Leeks are in the onion family, but offer a mild, sweet flavor. You’ll want to rinse them well since they’re often grown in sandy soil. Try them in this easy potato leek soup on a rainy winter night.
Grapefruit
Grapefruit was first commercially grown in Florida in the 19th century. It's best known for having antioxidant and immunity-boosting capabilities as well as digestive and cholesterol-lowering benefits.
Spinach
Dark leafy greens like spinach are important for skin, hair and bone health. Spinach also provides a good source of protein, iron, and vitamins & minerals. Looking for a something to make for dinner? We found 19 spinach recipes for you.
Radishes
Radishes have been around since ancient Egyptian times, and they’re here to stay. The crisp and crunchy veggies are good to snack on, or can be used in dishes. Here are some radish recipes. (We can’t wait to try the one with buttered leeks!)
