Cricket pitch launch
3pm Tuesday 16th July

Everyone is invited to the official opening of the new cricket facility in Deptford Park on Tuesday 16th July.

AB de Villiers, a genuine cricket legend, like Deptford's own Colin Blythe, has been invited to open the pitch with children from local schools including members of the Deptford Dragons cricket team.

Professional cricketers from Kent and Surrey, and the Platform Cricket project, will also be joining in with the event.

This project is part of a campaign to put cricket back in London's parks led by the London Cricket Trust. Read more HERE.

AB de Villiers played for South Africa (2004-2018) in all formats as a batsmen. He scored over 8,500 runs in test cricket and over 9,500 in one day cricket. He has scored 22 test match centuries.

Often referred to as 'Mr. 360' due to his ability to score runs all around a wicket, he was also an athletic and acrobatic fielder.
Give it a go.

If your kids want to try out cricket we have teamed up with Platform Cricket to put on two basic FREE coaching/multi-sports sessions on 20th July. Sessions are at 10am for Under 8's (Y3) and at 11am for Under 12's (Y4).

Please sign-up for FREE below.
As part of the project with the London Cricket Trust we have  some cricket equipment including these sprung wickets.

We're looking at ways of making the equipment accessible to all.  That might be a store accessible through a combination or 'smart' lock.  Meanwhile, if you want to borrow please get in touch.
It's the National Park City Festival from 20th to 28th July and we are putting on activities in Deptford Parks including art workshops, cycle rides, cricket coaching and more all alongside the Evelyn Assembly.
