Deptford Parks Liveable Neighbourhood
DPLN

Good News! DPLN has passed the first stage of feasibility with TfL.

The project has now moved into Phase 2 of engagement and we will share full details of this process in due course. However, the initial proposals can be viewed online HERE and you can leave comments.

You can read all about DPLN HERE.

The last few months of the first phase of the engagment process has formulated resident led plans for improvements in and around Deptford Park & Folkestone Gardens. This includes Woodpecker Road, Rolt Street, Scawen Road and Canal Approach. The aim is to create healthier streets, cleaner air and make it easier and safer for people to walk and cycle.

DeptfordFolk Heidi Alexander
Last week DeptfordFolk met Heidi Alexander, the Mayor of London's Deputy Mayor for Transport and Deputy Chair of Transport for London. Deptfordfolk showed Heidi and her Principal Policy Officer the DPLN area. We were joined by Rushey Green Councilor Louise Krupski, Lewisham's Clean Air Champion
DeptfordFolk Heidi Alexander
It's an added bonus that Heidi served as an Evelyn Ward Councillor from 2004-2010. She already has a good knowledge and insight about Evelyn issues. 10,000 new homes will have a huge impact on transport ifrastructure. less than 40% of Evelyn residents own a car (2011 Census), the lowest in Lewisham. We also discussed school routes, Air Quality, CS4, Quietways and parking. The meeting finished in Festa Sul Prato with Lewisham Transport Planners.
DeptfordFolk also met with Cllr Brenda Dacres Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport earlier this year with Lewisham's Cycling/Walking Programme Manager and Sustrans during Phase 1 of DPLN.
All three Evelyn Ward Councillors were invited to attend these meetings.
We received apologies from Cllr Lionel Openshaw for the meeting with Heidi Alexander.

SAFA House - Planning Proposal
Thank you to everyone who took the time to object to the SAFA house proposal to convert into homes. More information on this development HERE. The large number of responses means Lewisham has to hold a public meeting/drop in session.
Letters were sent to interested parties on May 8th 2019 notifying interested parties of a meeting on Tuesday May 21st at Deptford Church Hall 6.30-8.30pm. See letter HERE.

This venue is in a different ward and some distance from Safa House itself.  DeptfordFolk have asked Evelyn Ward Councillors to request the venue is changed.

Vive living, Evelyn Community Centre and local schools would be better suited for residents affected by this development; though, of course, perhaps inconvenient for developers.
