Interested in being a Remote Host Site?

In 2020, YOU can host the Legacy Grandparenting Summit live at your church! You can join the movement of intentional Christian grandparenting by hosting this incredible, life-changing event.

Simply go to, click on "Summit", scroll down, and click on "View Requirements" if you want to see all the information.  Then when you are ready to connect with us, click "Get More Information."  Once you fill out the information there, you will receive an email that gives you the link to the actual application.

If you fill out the application, don't worry - you still aren't obligated.  That application triggers the setup of a video conversation between you or your church's representative and our Legacy Coalition Simulcast team members, where you will have a chance to ask questions and talk over possibilities.  Then, once there is approval all the way around, we'll direct you to a Memorandum of Understanding that is the official agreement.

Legacy Grandparenting Summit 20 is on target to impact hundreds of grandparents in your church and neighborhoods over the two jam-packed days. Stay tuned for the Speaker Reveal coming in September. Ready to fine tune your grandparenting vision to 20:20!

Back to School Ideas

If your Facebook feed is like mine, it is flooded with back to school photos. I am amazed at the creativity of some of them. Have you wondered what you can do as a Nana or Pops to make those first days back to school memorable and special? Think about your personal grandkids and choose an idea or two to implement this year.

Consider interviewing them as they get ready to go back. What are they looking forward to, anything concerning them? Think of some questions to ask and record their answers. It would be fun to include them in a journal. If you ask the same questions each year, it would be fun to see the progression of their answers. You may even want to give them the journal one day.

Do you know that many of our grandchildren fear going back to school? Consider listening to them and their fears. Find Scripture verses that address those fears. Share them with your grandchild and pray those verses throughout the year for them. Consider using the Kids Promise Cards as lunch box stuffers.
See for sample prayers for grandchildren in school.
Have them share the new clothes and school supplies with you. This can help add to the excitement and maybe alleviate some of the anxiousness. Talk about when you went school and clothes shopping for a new school year.

If possible, pray with them the night before starting back to school. If you live near-by do it in person. If you live a distance, a phone call or video call is a great option.

Have fun and be creative, maybe a new tradition will start this school year!

“This book …will give you marvelous tools to enhance your relationship with your grandchildren, and will also help you focus on being an intentional influencer in faith, morals, and ethics.  This is simply the best “how to” book on Christian grandparenting that I have read!”       Larry Fowler, Founder of Legacy Coalition

Prayer for new School Year

Abba Father, We pray for the upcoming school year. Please give the administrators and teachers discerning hearts and minds as they prepare to open the doors on a new year.

Let them be wise stewards of the resources at their disposal. Let them make prudent decisions about schedules, curriculum and room assignments. Let them create an environment that is safe, nurturing and conducive for learning.

We also pray for our grandchildren as they prepare to meet this year’s teachers, juggle busy schedules, tackle tougher subject matter, renew old friendships and make new ones. We pray they step into the new year, confident that You are with them—strengthening them, helping them and upholding them with your righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10, paraphrased).

In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

(Thank you to Sherry Schumann for this prayer)
