Performance:
Our performance at the recent Ear Taxi Festival was a wonderful opportunity for Arcomusical to join forces with the greater Chicago new music community. We were thrilled and overwhelmed to be a part of this incredible celebration and once again give great thanks to Stephen Burns and Augusta Read Thomas and Reba Cafarelli for their efforts to make the festival a solid success.
Looking forward, our MeiaMeia official album release show at Constellation Chicago. is coming right up! On October 23rd, at 8:30PM, we'll be performing music from the recording plus some new works by Mateus Oliveira, Alexis Lamb and Greg Beyer. We hope you will join us for this very special occasion!

Arcomusical announces release of new guide for composers
As part of our preparation to visit New York City last month to work with Elliot Cole for our CMA commissioning project, Arcomusical developed a new Style and Notation Guide for composers interested in writing for berimbau. We invite you to check this out and contact us if you are interested in working with Arcomusical to develop new repertoire.

Arcomusical delivers!
Arcomusical recently received an order for a complete handcrafted berimbau from Scott Ney, Professor of Percussion at the University of New Mexico. As timing would have it, David "Snappy" White was passing through Albuquerque less than two weeks later and we thought it would be best to deliver the instrument in person. Their meeting was full of joy and positive energy. And of Snappy's workmanship, Ney reports:
"The berimbaus designed by Greg Beyer by David "Snappy" White are in one word, AMAZING! David's attention to detail and craftsmanship is extraordinary and the sound is just beautiful. These instruments are quite simply the best."

“Arcomusical’s dedicated, enthusiastic music making was a delight to watch. Standing in a semicircle and performing without music, the ensemble demonstrated the kind of communication one might expect from a seasoned string quartet, as buoyant, effervescent Afro-Brazilian textures leapt forth from their instruments.”
