      The day that we’ve been anxiously awaiting has arrived! As you know, per Governor Hogan, swimming pools in Maryland can now open. We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes with our COVID Committee and with the other recreational pools in the county to ensure an enjoyable and safe season at the Fallston Club and we are happy to announce that the Fallston Club pools will open on Saturday June 6th. Please read this email in it’s entirety as I am including a lot of information to decrease the number of emails sent to members. 
 
      We have worked with the Maryland Department of Health to determine capacity restrictions as set forth by the Governor. Because of the size of our facility, there will be no restrictions on member attendance at the Club, however, we ask for you to practice social distancing and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the DOH. Per the directives set forth by the state, we will have restrictions on ‘bather load’ which is the number of people in the pool. The capacity of the swimmers allowed in the back pool at one time will be capped at 90 swimmers, the front pool 100, and the intermediate pool at 15 swimmers. We also ask for you to practice social distancing in the pools.  We are currently not allowed to open the kiddie pool, but we are optimistic that this restriction will be eased as the summer progresses. Please note, swim diapers are allowed in the intermediate pool and potty-trained younger members are permitted in the larger pools with an adult. We ask that when the intermediate pool is at capacity that swimmers who are able, use the main or back pool so that non-swimmers can enjoy the intermediate pool.
 
      In order to help maintain social distancing and follow the guidelines set forth by the DOH, we are not allowing guests and we cannot offer swim lessons. Again, we will be constantly re-evaluating these decisions as the guidelines from the state and county change. Grandparents and babysitters on accounts are welcome. We feel that with these changes, we can maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. 
 
     Safety is of utmost importance and for that, we will be following the Directive and Order regarding swimming pools as set forth by the Maryland Department of Health. There will be visible signage throughout The Club to remind Patrons of social distancing and you will notice that chairs and tables will be spread out and set up accordingly. Patrons should wear face coverings when interacting with staff or other individuals not from their household. You must use your own towel on your chair or chaise lounge and you must use a table cloth covering on your table. You will also be asked to sign out when you leave.
 
     Currently within our Operations, our General Manager is working to get our pool and Concessions inspected and our guards re(certified). We are also awaiting delivery of the water station at the grills and setting up our hand sanitizing stations at the main entrance, pavilions, and concessions. At concessions, we will be working on ordering food and training our staff on the new protocol of food handling and service as set forth by the DOH. We are doing our best to get concessions opened as soon as possible. We will update you on a opening date when we have confirmation from our vendors.
 
      Our gaga pit, volleyball courts, basketball courts, grills, and playground will remain open as long as individuals abide by the social distancing recommendations. With the allowance of outdoor youth sports and day camps, we feel confident that these activities can happen safely in our Club. We will ask for you to self-police and adhere to the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines. It will also be essential to continue good hygiene practices such as hand washing and using hand sanitizer. We will work to keep our cleaning stations clean and stocked and ask for your help in immediately alerting staff if anything needs to be refilled.
 
WHAT TO KNOW FOR ADMISSION:
Before coming to the Club please make sure to have your membership information current:
Prior to coming to the Club for the first time this year, there are a few things that you MUST do this season by logging into your account via the Club’s website (
www.fallstonclub.com) and clicking on the Membership / Manage Account tabs:  
  1. Verify that your account does NOT have a message that your account is not paid for the season.  Please email the office if you think you have paid, and have an unpaid message.   
  2. Click the red “Membership Waiver” button under your name and/or your spouse’s name and then click agree / submit.  You may need to sign out and sign back in, in order to agree to the second person’s waiver.   This Waiver will cover all of your minor children.   
  3. Please upload an individual headshot of each member, including your children.  Begin that process by clicking on the camera icon next to each name.  
  4. Just a reminder that your dues and past due balances must be paid in full prior to using the Club this season. 
  5. This year you will also be asked to agree to the terms and conditions of the Club’s policies with the new COVID protocols in place. (Coming Soon!)
  6. *NEW MEMBERS- your account may not yet reflect all members of your family. We are working to update that as quickly as possible and will have it ready prior to opening so you can complete the above steps.
 
WHAT TO KNOW FOR THE SOCIAL CALENDAR:
We are working on our Calendar of Events to help facilitate a great summer for all of our members, however, some events may be modified or cancelled this year in order to conform with the DOH Guidelines. As soon as our schedule is updated, we will be posting it on the website.
 
WHAT TO KNOW FOR HOURS:
Although we usually open the club at 3pm when Harford county school days are in session, these are certainly unusual times. In order to help motivate our children to finish their school work early in the day and to enable greater social distancing, our newly extended hours will be Sunday-Friday 12PM to 9pm, Saturdays will be 10am to 9pm. 
 
After 6/16- The hours will be Sunday 12PM-9PM. Mon-Thursday 11AM-9PM. Fri-11AM-10PM. Sat-10AM-10PM.

 
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT PRO-RATED REFUNDS:
We had hoped to open June 5th, but our new opening date is now Saturday, June 6th. Please note: The refund of 2 weeks prorated dues will be issued within 30 days of June 6, 2020.

     We are grateful to be allowed back to some sense of normalcy with our summer routines. Thank you for your support along the way. Please know that we have done and will continue to do our best to keep our members’ health and safety in mind. We ask for your patience and flexibility as we learn to navigate these new guidelines. As Governor Hogan eases restrictions, so will we, but for the time being we will adhere to the strict guidelines set forth for us.  We are in the re-open phase and must do our part to create a safe environment. We will continue to be transparent and email our communications and post them on social media to keep you abreast of the latest information. Outdoor recreation is one of the best ways to stay healthy and we feel that the fellowship of our community along with fresh air, sunlight, and adherence to Health Dept guidelines, will enable us to have a wonderful season at the Fallston Club.
