Announcement of New Dean of Academic Affairs

Dear teachers of NCLS,

Thank you all for your wonderful work during the last school year! We are now getting ready for the next school year of 2016-2017.

Our former Dean of Academic Affairs Xiaoyan Lin has resigned after her five years serving at the position due to her personal and family reasons, as stated by her. Several former principals who have worked together with Xiaoyan have complimented and thanked her work at the position. Tons of thanks to Xiaoyan for her great contributions to the school!

For the coming school year we are honored and thrilled to have Dr. Yahong Shen as the new Dean of Academic Affairs. Yahong is well known by the NCLS community as the group leader of our arts group. Under her leadership, the arts group courses have been among the most popular courses of the school. She herself has continually been named the Excellent Grade/Group Leader of NCLS Of The Year for many years.

Yahong was a Chinese language instructor at the Department of East Asian Language and Civilizations at Harvard University, after years' teaching experiences in college and high school. Yahong has passed the provincial-level test on Mandarin Chinese spoken for radio broadcasters in China.

Yahong holds a doctoral degree in design from Harvard University, and a doctoral and a master's degree in architecture history and theory from South China University of Technology.

Thanks again to Xiaoyan! And welcome Yahong to lead the school's academic affairs! Grade/group leaders and teachers, let's work together closely for an even fruitful year of 2016-2017!

Best regards,
Ming Xia, Principal | Jianqiao Gu, Vice Principal
