Fundraising 2016 Talent Show
Newton Chinese School Support China Education project has entered its 11th year. Every year, the working group organizes a series of activities for fund-raising to support Chinese high school students who are outstanding but need financial help. The Youth and Family Fundraising Talent Show plays an important role. We welcome individuals, families, and groups from NCLS as well as the surrounding area to participate in the show. The talent show is also a great platform for selecting excellent performing program to qualify for NCLS in-school or out-school New Year Gala and other performance opportunities. Let’s share our talent, enthusiasm and work together to support this meaningful course. You can make a difference!
Time: December 11th, 2016, Sunday 3:30pm – 6:30pm

Seminar of the Week
-Have u ever triggered the fire alarm when cooking too much oil fume in the kitchen?
-Have u ever been mad at cooking, when u want to wrap the whole house before frying?
-Have u ever been upset with cooking, when u have to boil the food just to avoid fume?
Nowadays we don’t only enjoy the taste of food, but try to make them healthy, like less salt less oil, time and temperature controlling.
Meanwhile the cooking hazards have been ignored. Whether visible fume or invisible smell, they all affect our skin, lung and health. FOTILE invites you here to explore: Taste and Health, how to butter the bread on both sides

The Benefits of Youth Entrepreneurship Training: What the Research Shows
Entrepreneurship programs can be a lot of fun for teens—but beyond the fun, they can achieve very positive results. By learning how academic skills connect to real business opportunities and hopes for success, students can be motivated to work harder in school. Entrepreneurship programs also give wide scope to student creativity and energy and offer a positive way for students to channel their talents.
YES overview
Found in 2005, YES (Youth Entrepreneurship Service) Program is a program for high school students to develop entrepreneurship and leadership skills. From the 10-class program, students learn to work in teams, develop business ideas and participate in a business plan contest. The program will cover Business Plans, Product Conceptualization, Company Structure, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Public Speaking and Presentation skills. Each class will feature a distinguished speaker and an exciting instructor to show students how skills learned can be applied in the real world. Winners will have cash scholarship and possible internship opportunities in big firms or corporate.
