Nature Connections during the Season of Summer
Summer is fast approaching. Older siblings’ schools are letting out soon, preschools are getting ready to close for summer and/or enter into summertime schedules, and parents — well, they are getting ready for vacations, camping and the many joys as well as logistics that summer brings.
Right now so many animals, birds and plants are coming to LIFE and with that, new stories are abounding for our senses to engage with delight in.
This month on my blog I wish to offer you another story. This is a story that I use at the beginning of any new moment or season, for within the newness opportunities open up to explore life from different perspectives. New Seasons are like the space between dusk and dawn, magical times of discovery.
The picture below was taken of one of my 4-year-old students discovering this wonderful little friend. But, “What was its story?” “Where did it come from?” “What does it like to eat?” “Where are the other frogs or tadpoles??”
New life and new stories are birthing all around us. May you and your children have fun discovering some of them. And MAYBE you will find some right in your own back yard!!!
