Welcome to the waning days of autumn...
to the days getting closer to winter and to the celebrations that take place during this dark time of year. Last month I shared with you 3 foundational points that can aid anyone in developing a deeper relationship to the natural world and the Nature of self.
This month I would like to introduce to you the Second Point:
Attitude: An Attitude of Gratitude/ Appreciation
Charles R. Swindoll said “…I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it.... we are in charge of our attitudes…”
We appear to be in a nebulous time right now, a season of the unknown. I wonder, how does our attitude affect each moment, each outcome. How can an Attitude of Gratitude affect our children in our daily lives, in troubled moments.
Last month I offered a simple Welcoming game to play with self or with your children. This month I wish to offer a Story to expand on this point of Attitude: An Attitude of Gratitude/Appreciation.
Below you will see the link to hear this short tale. I learned it from Tony Ten Fingers, a Lakota Sioux born and raised on the Pine Ridge Reservation and I was given special permission to share it. May it be of inspiration to you. I know it has been so many times for myself.
