We are experts in virtual prototyping for the construction industry, empowering professionals to build for the future through simplified, standardized, Passive systems.

Invitation to be geeky with us.

Colorado Passive House Happy Hour - Tuesday, Feb 20th, 5-7pm.

It's that time again! Join us for a round of craft beer and craft building science, meet our newest team member Vince, and see our new office. This will be the same week as our CPHT class, so you'll also also get to meet Emu's latest group of Passive House builders and see our Passive Pods in construction.

RSVP | Feb 20th, 5-7pm
Not in Colorado? That's ok. We travel a lot. Like. A lot. Want to meet up and chat #BuildPassive? Please reach out to our team at

CPHT Flash Sale ends Sunday!

Register with Promo Code EMUFLASH to get a $100 discount

This course & workshop is for building professionals who are concerned about moisture control, air sealing, thermal bridging, durability, and healthy air. It is a 5 day high-performance construction class, workshop, and exam in Arvada (Denver), Colorado. Student builders will apply their learning to the construction of self-contained mini Passive House Pods, trying out different products in a brand-neutral environment.

Register by Sun, Feb 10th!
Showdown: Code Pod vs Passive Pod

Builder students in the Emu CPHT course will build a "Passive Pod", based on the lessons they learn in class (pictured on the right in image). We'll then compare each team's Pod with a "Code Pod" we build using mainstream practices (on the left).

Turns out... facts matter

Modeled heating demand should be compared to actuals

The International Passive House Association recently issued their latest Fact Sheet on modeled PHPP heating demand versus actual consumption, reminding us of the importance of verification and accountability. Emu's Pilot Program is striving to do just that. Through a series of single-family homes spread across various climate zones and design/build teams, we are aiming to align our virtually prototyped, standardized assemblies and junctions with real life data. Please get in touch if you know of any project teams interested!
