EVERYONE IS INVITED...

We try and offer the Landcare community a selection of special speakers as part of the AGM, educating and sharing from leaders in the environmental restoration space. This year is no different...

SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS INCLUDE:

Mik Petter (President), Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C)

B4C is a community based [Brisbane] social enterprise that provides coordination, support and specialised ecological services to protect, restore and maintain Bulimba Creek catchment in partnership with their members and wider community to build a web of green across the region. This includes working on wildlife crossings for better connectivity and, partnering with industry to restore degraded industrial land. And, as a Social Enterprise, B4C reinvest the majority of their profits in supporting the environment and the community.

Mik's presentation will offer lessons learnt from a well established Landcare Network in another capital Australian city, highlighting natural solutions for city living.

Julie Sheppard - Razorback Landcare Group, NPA Macarthur Branch

An illustrated presentation on longwall coal mining impacts in the Sydney region, with a focus on the Georges and Nepean river systems.

Julie has been heavily involved for over 20 years in campaigns to expose the damage this mining causes through dewatering the landscape.

Graphic images will make you wonder why this was ever allowed and why it continues to be approved.

Mel Tyas (Landcare NSW & ex NPWS) - Corporate volunteering for an income
