Apply for Red Barn Scholarships by Monday, 12/5
Each year, the Division of Student Affairs provides need-based scholarships to assist with student academic pursuits. To apply, go to The application deadline for these scholarships is next Monday, December 5 at 5 PM.
Toy Drive Ends This Friday, 12/2

The Young Communication Professionals and Dr. Ashlock’s classes are working with Change Today, Change Tomorrow to gather toy donations for Louisville children in need this holiday season. To donate, please bring toys (in their original packaging) to the COMM dept. main office (Strickler 310 West) between 8 am and 4:30 pm M–F. Donations will be accepted through 4:30 pm on December 2.
Ntl. TV Industry Internship Programs
Applications are now open for in-person, remote, and hybrid internship opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students interested in careers in TV. The Television Academy Foundation Summer Internship and Fellowship Program features opportunities in program development, directing, animation, casting, interactive media, and more. The Foundation also offers a Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program and the Star Trek Command Training Program, which provides immersive professional experiences within the Star Trek franchise.

ArtBound Int'l Summer Internships
Looking to intern abroad this summer? ArtBound Initiative is taking applications for their international summer program in Berlin, Melbourne, and Sydney until Thursday, Dec. 15. The program includes one-on-one coaching with industry professionals and travel support to help you find housing and insurance. Intern with advertising agencies, production companies, art galleries, fashion brands, magazines, and more—apply here!
EBF Media & Tech Internship Program
The Emma Bowen Foundation is a diversity student-oriented program placing students in paid internships with some of the nation's largest media organizations. Applications are now being accepted. Visit their website for more information.
Seniors Apply Now for Your Spring 2023 Degree
If you are going to complete all degree requirements in the spring, then you need to complete the degree application on ULink at your earliest convenience. The application period for Spring 2023 extends until April 14. All candidates for degrees, whether they plan to participate in Commencement, must apply for graduation. Spring commencement is scheduled for May 13.

The degree application will be received by an A&S advisor for a final degree check after final grades for fall are posted. In the case of problems, students will be notified. If you will complete all but 6 or fewer credit hours in the spring and would like to participate in the May commencement ceremony, then contact your Communication or A&S advisor in mid-February to request to walk early. Early walkers should NOT apply for their degree for spring.

Semester Ends Next Week
The last day of the semester is next Monday, December 5. Stop Day/Reading Day is December 6, and finals run December 7 through 13. If you are not sure about when a final is scheduled for your class, consult this list. Commencement is December 16.

The winter term starts on Wednesday, December 14. Then the Spring 2023 semester starts on Monday, January 9.
