Black Six Trial Panel TOMORROW: 1 pm, Floyd Theatre
The DECC Office is pleased to host a panel with members of the Black Six as they discuss the events of 1968 and today’s social justice movement. In 1968, six Black people were accused of orchestrating a racial uprising in the Parkland neighborhood. Each was charged with conspiring to destroy private and public property, until 1970, when a judge threw the case out of court for lack of evidence. Launch of The Bird's Nest, Student-Led MKTG Agency

The Bird’s Nest is a student-operated strategic communication agency housed on campus within the COMM Dept. and College of Arts & Sciences. The Bird’s Nest student agency provides a range of services, including social media, video production, advertising, branding, and internet consulting, among several others. In addition to firsthand experience, the initiative seeks to contribute to wide-ranging university goals in community engagement, and thus provide students with an opportunity to work within the community through partnerships, engaged scholarship, and engaged learning. New to resume writing? Need resume help? No worries—now is the perfect time to begin drafting. The Career Center not only provides resume resources but is hosting a drop-in resume review to provide in-person, one-on-one resume evaluations.
 

Join the Young Communication Professionals (YCP)
YCP educates members on relevant communication topics and is a great resume builder and networking tool. In addition to hosting gatherings and inviting guest speakers, annual events include the spring Communication internship fair and Convocation to honor graduating seniors.

YCP is having a meeting next Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 3:30 pm in Davidson 109 for all students interested in joining. Come to the meeting to learn more!
