Introducing "The PB & J" Wishing You Peace Blessings and Joy Your Quarterly Food Security for America Update!
Food Security for America is proud to announce that our quarterly updates will now be called
"The PB & J"!
Here at FSA we welcome new opportunities to grow and help our community in Atlanta and beyond. Why did we choose to name our newsletter the PB& J? As Food Security for America began to take shape, I asked myself what is most important to the FSA mission? What is the FSA legacy? The idea came to mind to create "Peace, Blessings, and Joy" for all those who experience food insecurity. While ending hunger is important, taking that same person from food-insecure towards a life filled with "Peace, Blessing, and Joy" is the actual goal. From that day, "PB & J" became the signature that I use to sign off all correspondence!
I welcome you to take five minutes each quarter to peruse our happenings, growth, and blessings as the "PB & J" hits your inbox. Most importantly, would you consider sharing each newsletter with a friend? Forward this email and ask that friend to sign up (link below) to spread to peace, blessings, joy!
It is exciting news when a NEW food security group forms! Today we are proud to announce that the First Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia has launched a new food security group!

So many stories.
Every so often, we give members index cards and ask them to write thank-you notes to our donors.
This one took us by surprise.
(The following is a verbatim quote):
"To whom it may concern,
Thank you for providing great food for us at Walton Crossing. I truly believe that the program helps keep peace in our community. Often when kids are hungry, they are angry, and thanks to the food co-op our kids are happy and healthy. Thank you kindly!"
It's What We Do! "It starts with the food, but it's not about the food"...
Have you ever wondered how a food security group begins? Well, it doesn't happen overnight, and it may not be easy, but it works. FSA can and will guide you through the process! Food Security for America will customize a training session for your non-profit or faith institution. And the cost and start-up are minimal.
Would you consider approaching a local church, or community organization in your area and begin the conversation? Rev. Nancy Yarnell will gladly walk you through the process. Email Rev. Yarnell and learn more!
This Seder service is complete with a full kosher meal, and it incorporates advocacy against hunger.
Local Nonprofits addressing hunger issues are featured!
The price is $36 per person and all are invited to attend.
More details to follow, but please do SAVE THE DATE!
Has anyone conducted any surveys, questionnaires or evaluations in the last few years? Other efforts to quantify the positive changes that the program makes in members' lives? If so, please forward to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are building a library of such reports to share with everyone.
Your Donation Can Prevent a Family From Becoming Homeless!
It's cold outside. Saving money on food allows a family to use their wages to pay bills for life-saving utilities. How terrifying would it be to have to decide on food for your family or heat?
Your donations will provide the food that families need to survive.
