Something to look forward to...

Trip to Waro Rocks and Mangakino Falls,
129-141 King St, Hikurangi.
Meet at the lake, Waro Reserve,
SUNDAY 22 March at 11am.

Here's an outing to get out in  the fresh air, with lots of photographic opportunities to capture.

Bring a picnic lunch (not to be shared) and camera gear, and good footwear for an easy walk.

There is lots of space to observe "physical distancing" so just be sensible and we should have a great day.

Here are details about the area from the Department of Conservation website.

  • You or your family have had any contact with anyone who has recently returned from overseas.
  •  You have any symptoms of cold or flu.
  •  You are a health worker, or could have been exposed to this virus in any way.
  •  You are currently in lockdown through your workplace as many people are.
Please don't be complacent. We now do have a confirmed Northland case, and I understand that person is in hospital here.

Relay for Life postponed

This event is now not going ahead as scheduled, so park that photography opportunity for another time.

Solo projects

If you are stuck at home at the moment, how about trying some photography techniques to build up your skills and creativity.
Take photos of dishwashing soap bubbles.
You'll need glycerine for this one.

Vanitas: President's Challenge

Capture the dark brooding images of Vanitas photography for our President's Challenge.

Here's a tutorial with how this can be accomplished.
