You are all welcome to head out into the countryside tomorrow (Saturday 27 March) from 10am until you've had enough of all the fresh country air and vistas!
As we have sold the farm, I would love to have a collection of photos that I could make into a book for our family. And hopefully you'll get some good pix for future competitions as well.
There is plenty of parking here and the forecast is for a nice day, up to 23 degrees so bring your sunblock. We are about 23km from town, about 20 minutes.
Address for your car/phone navigation systems is:
25 Baker Road
Your lunch and drink
Head west from Whangarei past Maungatapere toward Dargaville.
Turn right into Whatitiri Road
Travel about 3km and turn Left into Baker Road which is on a sharp right-hand turn.
Our house is 250 metres down, third driveaway on the left.
It's a brick and tile house set against a horseshoe of bush.
If you get to the woolshed you have gone too far.
Behind the house we have QEII bush which is filled with puriri and other native trees.
The farm covers 900 acres so there is plenty of wandering to be had.
Great views of the Tangihua ranges.
You can also drive along Baker Road for more vistas (great for people who don't want to walk too much).
Old pink barn, very rustic with cobwebby windows.
Dry stone walls
Hope to see you tomorrow!
If you get lost, my phone contact details follow.
