Welcome

The tricky virus strikes again. We are fortunate we have a hobby which we can enjoy singularly, in a bubble or as a group. Hopefully levels will be back to normal for the March meeting. Remember if you feel unwell stay at home. If you have visited Auckland within the timeframe of the latest outbreak, please stay home.
You won't miss out, just read your newsletter and it will keep you up to date with all that's happening.

WORKSHOP NIGHT

Thursday 18 March.

Please bring along blocks of ice.
You will need a couple of days to do this so please make sure you allow plenty of time.
TIP: Use boiled water to make the ice less opaque.
You can experiment with freezing things inside the ice like leaves, flowers or coins, or other items. You could also refreeze a jumble of iceblocks to make interesting patterns.
Bring camera and tripod, towels and chilly bags. Bring different coloured lighting or cellophane to create background colours.

Due 4th March

Triptych
Can involve taking one picture and splitting it into three different parts or shooting three separate photos that are related.

Double Exposure
Can be produced in-camera or by post editing.

Elements: Natural elements are what we are after. These are Air, Fire. Water, Earth.
You can combine elements and your images might show the effect of elements.

Club Outings

Houhora Heads, Wagener Holiday Park (postponed).
This trip will be left until spring.

Russell Farm Visit
Club members are invited to Neville and Donna Russell's beef farm at 25 Baker Road, Whatitiri on Saturday March 27 from 10am. The 900-acre farm has lots of pasture, QEII covenant bush with huge puriri trees, a photogenic old barn as well as beautiful vistas toward the Tangihua Ranges. The farm has been sold so this will be a last chance to compile an album of photos for the family and hopefully you will find some subjects for the landscape competition.

Kawau Island Dates
Kawau Island trip is proposed 16 to 18 April.
We are planning to stay at the Sand Spit Holiday Park and take a day trip to Kawau Island on Saturday 17 April. We need to know numbers so please check your diaries and we'll take a tally on Thursday night.
