It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as your Councilwoman over the last year. I have relished the exchanges, interactions, questions, and opinions you have shared with me. Through taking your ideas and working hard to implement them, we have been able to accomplish much together: from launching a pilot lifeguard program on our North Beach to implementing a new policy to effectively eliminate the use of synthetic pesticides like glyphosate from being used for pest and weed management on city-maintained properties.
We're in the midst of revising, streamlining, and bringing consistency to our Municipal Code for the first time and revisiting our boards, commissions, and committees appointment procedures so that Carlsbad has effective and diverse representation in key leadership positions in Carlsbad.
While we have accomplished much, there is still a lot of work to be done to ensure that the will of our residents is shaping the future of our City.
Carlsbad deserves proactive leadership that is committed to putting our residents first, that centers our residents' voices and quality-of-life in every decision made, with a strong, unifying vision for Carlsbad that is rooted in our past, while looking forward to our future.
That is why I am running for Mayor of Carlsbad in 2018.
I am honored to announce that my first endorsement is that of former Carlsbad Councilwoman, Lorraine Wood.
I look forward to continuing to deepen my service to you, Carlsbad!
